USED BOOK SALE/HISTORIC EXHIBITS: Saturday, 9:00am to 2:00pm at the Soldiers' Orphan School, 2238 Orphan School Road, Kingsley inside the original Franklin Academy building (1836-1865). Exhibits on display in the museum, courtesy of the Harford Historical Society. The property also has old foundations of the former school buildings, such as girl's dormitory, chapel, hospital, staff housing, bakery and more. The Progress Authority, in coordination with the Susquehanna County Economic Development Advisory Committee, hosted the Susquehanna County Business to Business Mixer on September 16th, at the Susquehanna County Public Safety Center.
This event brought together 25 business representatives and professionals for an evening of networking and learning. The purpose of the mixer was to provide small and medium-sized businesses with an overview of available business support services and programs designed to help them grow and succeed.
Featured speakers included representatives from The Progress Authority, Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, and the Susquehanna County Tourism and Promotion Agency. The evening concluded with a keynote presentation from XtremeNetworking.ai, which explored how small and medium-sized businesses can leverage artificial intelligence to boost efficiency and competitiveness.
"The Business to Business Mixer is part of our ongoing commitment to helping local businesses thrive by connecting them with the right resources and partnerships," said The Progress Authority.
The Progress Authority serves as the primary economic development organization for Susquehanna County, working closely with local and regional partners to foster business growth. POGLA, the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Landowner Alliance, will be hosting an Oil and Gas Rights Town Hall Meeting on Thursday Oct. 2, 2025 at 6:30pm, doors open at 5:45, in Susquehanna County at the Montrose VFW, 16972 State Route 706, Montrose. This event is free to attend. Registration is required, online at pogla.org/events, by phone at 717-205-2350, or at the door.
POGLA Town Hall meetings discuss issues that matter to landowners with oil and gas royalties such as leases, setbacks, decimal interests, unit declarations, legal issues, legislative updates, estate planning, and new developments. Each meeting is tailored to the issues impacting royalty owners in their part of the state. A question and answer session will follow. Light refreshments will be provided.
