Kelsey Trichilo Receives Honors Kelsey Trichilo of Union Dale, a doctor of pharmacy student, has been inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) Honor Society at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Invitations to join ALD, a national honor society for first-year students, are based on attaining a first-semester academic average of at least 3.50 and ranking in the top 20 percent of the class. This year's inductees all attained a first-semester academic average above a 3.653.
Elk Lake’s Skinner Superior At Spartan At the Elk Lake Forensics Team’s last regular season tournament, junior Shea Skinner put in his most impressive performance of the season. Skinner compiled 7 wins on route to the Lincoln-Douglas Debate championship at the Spartan Invitational tournament at Southern Lehigh High School on April 24. During the preliminary rounds, Skinner compiled an undefeated 4 win and 0 loss record by defeating debaters from Abington Heights, Ridge, and 2 debaters from Montville High School. In the Quarter-Final Round, Skinner defeated Dan Brenner from Montville High School. In Semi-Finals, Skinner once again faced a debater from Montville High School, Jerry Zhang. This time he won a unanimous decision and moved on to Finals. Skinner faced Ashley Novak from Abington Heights in the Final round and won a hard fought split decision that gave him the tournament championship. “This is a tremendous end to the regular tournament season. It is also extremely beneficial as Shea begins to prepare for the NCFL National Tournament,” commented EL Forensics Director Keith Brosious. The EL Forensics Team will take a few weeks off before they begin to prepare for the National Catholic Forensics League’s Grand National Tournament on Memorial Day Weekend in Omaha, NB.
