LAVERNE D. TINGLEY

Laverne D. Tingley, 88, of Susquehanna, PA passed away Thursday afternoon at the Barnes Kasson Hospital SNF in Susquehanna.

She was predeceased by her husband Mason F. Tingley; siblings Dan, Thomas and Cyril Evans; Myrtle Gow; Hayden and Elizabeth Evans.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Donna & David Norton, The Woodlands, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law Donald & Melissa Tingley, Kirkwood, NY; Gary & Pamela Tingley, Dryden, NY; Richard & Carol Tingley, Susquehanna, PA; Terry & Beth Tingley, Susquehanna, PA; grandchildren Derek (Pamela) Norton, Alexandria, VA; Brad Norton, LaHavre, France; Jennifer (Jeff) Bruno, The Woodlands, Texas; Dana (Walter) Brosch, Witchita, Kansas; Greg Tingley, Asheville, NC; Nicole (Joe) Heiman, Seattle, WA; Lauren (Fred) Yutzy, Mystic, CT; Regan Tingley, Jamaica Plains, Mass; Jordan Tingley, Susquehanna; great grandchildren Isabel and Olivia Brosch; Deya and Parker Norton; Tyson Bruno; brothers Cradoc Evans, Nicholson, PA; Mason (Sue) Evans, Susquehanna; sisters Lois Schrader, Danville, PA; Rhoda Munson, Abingdon, MD; Helen Evans, Rutherfordton, NC; Margaret (Lewis) Lamb, Conklin, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Laverne was a dedicated housewife and mother who will be missed dearly by her entire family.

The funeral service was held on Monday May 3 at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA. Burial was in the West Lenox Cemetery in West Lenox, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Fire Dept. PO Box 175 Susquehanna, PA 18847.

ROBERT J. BARTON

Robert J. Barton, 47, of Great Bend, PA passed away unexpectedly at his place of business and residence on April 30, 2010. Rob was born on August 2, 1962 and is survived by his parents, Robert and Mary Barton, Kirkwood, NY.

He is also survived by two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca; brothers, Rick, Joseph (Amy), Stephen (Kathy), and Brian (Jamie); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; a loving friend, Tammy; as well as countless friends and colleagues.

Rob was a graduate of Windsor High School and the owner of a local bowling center, Valley Lanes. He was a member of The U.S. Bowling Congress. He was an avid bowler and participated in numerous leagues over the years as well as organizing many memorial tournaments benefiting local families, a league for special needs adults, and also involved with the Big Brother/Big Sister Club. He has bowled many perfect 300 games and several 800 series. Rob also loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, flowers, animals, and nature as a whole.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Adirondack Mountain Club at www.adk.org.

DORIS L. JOHNSON

Doris L. Johnson, 89, of Montrose, PA formerly of Nicholson, passed away, Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Meadow View Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA. She was born June 9, 1920 in Hop Bottom, PA.

She loved doing bead work, crafts and gardening.

The family would like to thank Meadowview & Heartland Hospice for all of their care and compassion throughout her stay there.

Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, James R. & Cathy Johnson of Great Bend, PA; grandchildren, Marni & Jim Gleason & Jim Johnson Jr.; great grandchildren, Patrick, Cody, Jenna, Dylan & Hunter; sisters, Jessie Fredreici, Lillian Hiney & Betty McLaud; several nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Ivan & Roy McLaud, Mabel Cooley & Alice Lewis.

Services will be private. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meadowview Senior Living Center, RR4 Box 4000, Montrose, PA 18801.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.

Mary Judith McGuane

Mary Judith McGuane, 69, of East Church St., Susquehanna, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2010, after a long illness, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard “Dick” Chapman McGuane; her parents Jack and Lena Williams.

Judith is survived by 5 children, Kathleen (Kirk) Hinkley, Pat (Amy) McGuane, Jackie Fowner, Judi Ficarro and companion Kyle Kemmerer, John McGuane; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Joan Williams; two brothers-in-law, James (Helen) McGuane, Gary (Suzanne) McGuane; 6 grandchildren Gabrielle, Heather, Stephanie, Brittany, Patrick and Jacob; one great grandchild, Ciarra; several close friends, Janet Burns, Millie Plutino and Dorothy Unger; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Nursing school. She worked at Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna and later at Rivermeade Nursing Home, Binghamton, NY.

Judith was an avid Yankees and Washington Redskins fan. She was a devoted member of the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, which she always loved to attend and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend, sister and was loved by all.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff for all their caring work during this difficult time.

The funeral was held on Friday, April 30, 2010, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna and at the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, where a mass of Christian burial was offered by the Rev. Alfhonses Perikala.

Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA, in memory of Mary Judith McGuane.

JACOB J. GLADSTONE KEIDEL

Jacob J. Gladstone Keidel, 19, of Susquehanna, PA passed away unexpectedly April 29, 2010. He is the son of Linda Ann Gladstone and Robert J. Keidel, Jr.

Also surviving is a sister, Katy Gladstone; a brother, Vincent Bastedo; grandparents, James and Linda Gladstone; great grandfather, James E. Gladstone; two aunts; a niece; a nephew; and several cousins and friends.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
