EVAN A. PRICE

Evan A. Price, 89, of Kingsley, PA, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010, at his home. Born October 24, 1921, in Harford, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Minnie [Shaver] Price.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Montrose.

He was Chief Clerk of Susquehanna County. He retired from the US Air Force in 1964 after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. Prior to entering the Air Force, he worked as a logger and at the family saw mill.

Upon retirement from Susquehanna County, he worked as a legislative aide at the local office of State Representative Sandra Major.

He was a member and past officer of the Montrose Rotary Club, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow, member of the Board of Directors at Barnes Kasson Hospital, Mount Hermon Lodge #472 F. & A.M., Uniondale, Irem Temple, Harford Alumni Association, Brooklyn Historical Society, and the Susquehanna County C-Club. He was a Susquehanna County Republican committee person for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jeanette S. [Cooley] Price; daughters & sons-in-law, Linda Price Romeika [Bill] of West Chester, PA, Lana Price Fluck [Jim] of Brooklyn, PA, Lisa Price Matecki [Paul J.] of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Heather [Josh], Andrew, Brent, Alison, Caitlin, Seth; sister & brother-in-law, Frances & Harold Ely of Montrose, PA; and many nieces & nephews.

Services were held Wednesday, December 15 at the First Presbyterian Church of Montrose, Montrose, PA.

MEGHAN ELIZABETH GREEN

“Our beloved daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Green, 20, of North Jackson, PA, went home to the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2010, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She suffered from injuries in a motor vehicle accident a week earlier in Steubenville, Ohio.”

Meghan was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Alfred G. Green Sr.; maternal grandparents James D. and Agnes Fowler.

She is survived by her parents Alfred G. and Alberta Green of North Jackson, PA; and paternal grandmother, Helen M. Green, of Tunkhannock, PA; brothers, Lorne D. Green and Kevin Patrick Green; sisters, Doriann Silvernail, and Alicia Heller; foster brothers, Wayne Krause, and Frank Jones; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Meghan attended the College of St. Mary Magdalene, in Warner, New Hampshire, and currently was enrolled at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.

She was an enthusiastic figure skater and was awarded medals in competitions in New York and Pennsylvania. Also, she enjoyed dance and ballet; participating in productions and competitions winning numerous awards. Pencil drawing and water color painting, along with creative writing were God-Given talents. Meghan will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.

A mass of Christian burial was offered at the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA, on Saturday, December 18, 2010, with Rev. David Cramer and Rev. John Mikajulnas officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date in the St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, in Meghan’s name.
