The students will be featured across all WVIA television, radio and digital platforms for one week and the accompanying vignette will be available to watch on wvia.org and pbs.org for one year. The School of Petroleum and Natural Gas at Lackawanna College is teaching the course onsite at the SCCTC. Funding for the program fees, materials and all other costs associated with this program have been provided by Cabot Oil & Gas.
This is the second year this program has been offered. The students in the program last year had nothing but positive feedback about the program. The class is a 15-week college course PNG 105, Introduction to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry. Following successful completion, the students will receive 3 college credits. Cabot Oil and Gas’ involvement is not limited to funding. They will be actively involved in the instructional process. They have planned a field trip to a gas rig site and they will also do classroom presentations. Dr. Alice M. Davis, SCCTC Executive Director said, “The support we have received from Cabot Oil and Gas over the years is immeasurable. They have supported our students and our programs annually with financial contributions, equipment and instructional support; as well as serving on our Director’s Advisory Board and Occupational Advisory Committees.
