FEBRUARY 3

CORNED-BEEF DINNER: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Montrose will host a dinner honoring Saint Brigid at 5 p.m. Feb. 3 in the parish hall, 276 Church St. The event features a corned-beef dinner and live Irish music from Kelly and Susan Pratt. The community is invited. Tickets can be purchased during business hours at the Leatherstocking Office in the Tannery Building on S. Main Street. There will also be a free will donation. The event is sponsored by Daughters of the King, a prayer and service group. Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to employees of Original Italian Pizza, a Montrose restaurant destroyed by fire.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: East Ararat United Methodist Church will be holding their pancake breakfast on Saturday, February 3rd from 7am-11pm. Please call Jackie Burrows at 1-570-766-5322 for more information or find us on Facebook.

FEBRUARY 4

PIZZA, WINGS & MORE: The Thompson Hose Co. will be holding a Big Game Sunday event, complete with pizza, wings and more! The event will take place on Sunday, February 4th and run from noon till 6pm. FEBRUARY 10

VALENTINE'S BBQ: On Saturday, February 10th, the East Ararat United Methodist Church will be holding a Valentine's BBQ from 11pm – 2pm. The meal includes half a chicken, roll and a snack. SPAGHETTI DINNER: Knights of Columbus Council 356 will be holding a Spaghetti and Homemade Mneatball Dinner on Saturday, February 10th. The dinner will start at 4pm and run until 7pm at the KOC Hall 65 Kilrow St., Great Bend, PA. Please contact the KOC for more information and pricing. Children 5 & under are free. Live music will be performed by Carl Tanner & Friends.

FEBRUARY 18

DINNER THEATER: The Clifford Community Youth Group will hold their annual “Ziti with Your Sweetie” Dinner Theater on Sunday, February 18th at the Clifford Fire Hall, beginning at 2 PM. Salad, ziti with meatballs, beverage and dessert will be served as the youth and friends present "And Then There Was One, A Spoof". JULY 12

Lanesboro Center To Hold Valentine Dinner

The Lanesboro Senior Center, located at 3006 Turnpike Street in Susquehanna, will host a Valentine’s Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser Saturday, February 17 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Included in the cost will be spaghetti with meatballs, bread, tossed salad, and dessert. Reservations are required by February 9, and can be made by calling 570-853-3967. All proceeds will benefit activities of the Lanesboro Senior Center.

Master Gardeners At County Ag Day

The Penn State Master Gardeners will be exhibiting at the 29th annual Susquehanna County Ag Day to be held Friday, March 2 at the Elk Lake High School from 10 am-3:30 pm. One of the Master Gardener programs to be presented that day will be on Rain Gardening. There will also be a vast array of horticulture information in several areas including the Spotted Lanternfly, Pollinators, Vegetable Gardening as well as unique displays and much more. Have a gardening question? Ask our Master Gardeners who will be on hand that day to help you.

Ag Day includes 75 plus Ag vendors, educational workshops, health organizations, lunch, pie baking contest, pie auction, and delicious dairy products including milk, cheese, and ice cream! Lunch will be available in the school’s cafeteria. Lunch reservations are required by calling 570-278-1158 or emailing: susquehannaext@psu.edu.

Ag Day visitors are encouraged to take a stroll up “Health Alley” and visit a variety of health and community organizations who will be promoting their activities and programs.

Ag Day’s ever popular Pie Contest and Auction will once again be held with all proceeds benefiting the Susquehanna County 4-H  and Dairy Princess Promotion Program.

Please pre-register for the contest by calling 570-278-1158 or email: susquehannaext@psu.edu. Anyone is eligible to enter, youth or adults, farm or non-farm folks. The Pie Auction will take place at 2:30 p.m. Join the excitement as the pies are auctioned off by bidding and you will have a delicious pie to take home and will have supported youth of Susquehanna County.

Montrose Mobile Pantry Deadline

The Montrose Mobile Pantry will hold its free, monthly food distribution from 3 to 5:30 pm on Feb. 9, at the Montrose United Methodist Church, 526 Church St., Montrose.

The deadline to pre- register is Feb. 1. To pre-register, call us at 571-214-2184. The distribution is open to ALL Susquehanna County residents. In January, we distributed food to 205 households, the most since starting our monthly food distributions last June.

Each month, the Montrose Mobile Pantry, in partnership with the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, distributes at least 12 different food items to families in need. The pantry pays for peanut butter with donations. Cabot Oil & Gas donates milk and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Montrose pays for bread for our families.

We are looking for other businesses, groups or individuals to help us pay for other staples such as pasta each month.

You are also welcome Feb. 9 to help us unload, package and distribute food. The food truck generally arrives at 10 a.m.
