HEADLINES: New Milford Township had already scheduled a special meeting for March 29th to review recent changes to its nascent clean-air ordinance. But when a blizzard made its regular meeting date on the 15th untenable, the township moved it to the 29th also. So the 29th promised a two-fer event. And both meetings together took less than an hour. Susquehanna County recently debuted a new system designed to enhance 9-1-1 services for all citizens. Smart911 is a service which will allow all residents and visitors in Susquehanna County to provide information about themselves and their family to 9-1-1, prior to an emergency. The free, private and secure Safety Profile will display, automatically to the 9-1-1 call taker immediately when a citizen dials 9-1-1. With Smart911, emergency responders can be aware of many details they would not have known preciously; fire crews can arrive at a house fire knowing how many people live in the home and the location of the bedrooms, EMS can be advised of allergies or specific medical conditions, and police can have the photo of a missing child in seconds and possibly distribute it within minutes. This site is on a subscription-only basis. The Obituary and Classified pages have open access. You will need to be a paid subscriber to have complete access to the entire Susquehanna County Transcript website. Thank you for visiting!
