Montrose Educators Call For Strike

Montrose Education Association (MEA) was forced into the position of withholding their services starting Tuesday, March 29. The MEA met in good faith with the school board to work out some final issues on the new contract and avoid the work stoppage on March 29. Unfortunately, the school board, led by their chief negotiator instead offered a different contract proposal that was regressive and unfair to the educators.

Endowment To Be Awarded to SCCTC

President of the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, recently presented a check for $750.00 to the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center to support the expenses of the Practical Nursing program. The donation was due to the generosity of Mr. Joseph Yakoski, in memory of his beloved wife, Diane. Diane was a LPN and worked locally for many years at Tyler Memorial Hospital. Her love and devotion to helping people was clear to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
