Visitors Bureau Is Switching Calendar

Events that take place between April 1 and June 30, 2016 are now being accepted for the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau 2016 Spring Calendar of Events brochure.

The deadline to submit events is March 2.

For the past three years, the Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau (EMVB) has produced an annual events calendar. That is changing this year, as the bureau will now be compiling three seasonal calendars instead – Spring, Summer, and Fall/Winter.

The change comes about due to the increased number of events the bureau receives from local organizations after the annual calendar booklet is printed. By switching to a format that allows for printing three times a year, the events that have missed being in the printed piece in previous years can now be included.

“We wanted to make our calendar as inclusive as possible”, said EMVB Executive Director Jean Ruhf.

Any public event that is sponsored by a community, government, or non-profit organization in the Endless Mountains Region of Sullivan, Susquehanna, or Wyoming county can be submitted for the upcoming calendar free of charge. The event should be something a visitor to the area would be interested in – festivals and firemen’s celebrations, to community plays and church dinners, and everything in between.

To submit an event, go to www.EndlessMountains.org and click on “add event” under the large rotating photos on the homepage. This will pull up the event information form which includes the option to write a long and short description on the event, link to the event website, and upload a photo. All events on the bureau’s website will also be included in the EMVB weekly Happenings Flyer, posted on Facebook, and mentioned on Twitter.

Although there is a deadline of March 2 for events to be included in the printed spring calendar, any event can be submitted anytime for the rest of the year.

The Endless Mountains Visitors Bureau is the designated destination marketing organization for Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties.
