Community Foundation Congratulates Graduates

The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains extends congratulations to the seventy-two students who will receive tuition assistance from college scholarships that are administered by The Community Foundation.

More than $85,000 will be provided to graduates from thirteen High Schools or Career and Technology Schools in Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.  Furthermore, The Community Foundation’s participation in the Pennsylvania PATH program will allow students who matriculate at Pennsylvania colleges to be nominated for potential matching funding.

The Community Foundation thanks the donors who have established these permanent scholarships and wishes good luck to all the scholarship recipients on the next phase of their education.  For more details about the scholarships and their recipients please visit the Scholarship section of The Community Foundation’s web site at www.community-foundation.org.

Pet Of The Week

Spot and Topaz

Lots of good things come in twos - like Mom and Dad, chocolate and vanilla, Spot and Topaz.  Spot and Topaz are a committed pair.  Topaz is just a truly sweet girl.  Spot is a typical tough guy.  He is strong but friendly.  He does not like some other male dogs as he feels the need to protect his little princess.  These two are housebroke and spayed/neutered.  A fenced yard would be great and they would have to be the only animals in the household.  Spot is about 6 years old and Topaz about 2.  They would be great in an active family with no small children.  Stop by the shelter and get some Loot for Love lottery tickets, advance tickets for Woofstock, Leopold's chocolate or some Wilbur's Barkery treats for your canine friends.  Special thanks to Frisco's "Mom" for the bed pads - they are perfect!
