HEADLINES: Not even the rain could dampen the excitement of the crowd gathered to partake in the Groundbreaking Ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, June 16th for the new Susquehanna County Library. Luckily the rain stopped shortly before the ceremony began, the sun came out and the band played. The Montrose Area High School band began the ceremony with the Star Spangled Banner and ended it with America the Beautiful. Pennsylvania State government hasn’t enacted its FY 2016 budget yet; but Susquehanna Community School Directors have a firm handle on the District’s budget, and its one that places the District in an enviable position. School Directors gave final passage to the budget at their Wednesday, June 17 board meeting. Presiding over the meeting was President Steven Stanford and present were members Jason Chamberlain, Amanda Cook, Evelyn Cottrell, Carol Jackson, Holly Kubus, and Martha Stanford. This site is on a subscription-only basis. The Obituary and Classified pages have open access. You will need to be a paid subscriber to have complete access to the entire Susquehanna County Transcript website. Thank you for visiting!
