Sharon E. Conklin

Sharon E. Conklin, 50, of Starrucca, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Betty (Cutler) Conklin. Sharon was predeceased by her brothers Stanley Conklin Jr., Daniel Conklin, Richard Conklin, and Clifford Conklin, and the twins.

She is survived by her three sons Robert Reed Jr. of Starrucca, PA, Billy Joe Reed, of Liberty NY, and John Roy Turner Jr., of Susquehanna, PA; one daughter Charity Lynn Turner of Lanesboro PA; four brothers George Conklin, Roger Conklin, Michael Conklin, and Mark Conklin; five sisters Betty Conklin, Jane Conklin, Dawn Ross, Wananita Humphries, and Pamela Worden; four grandchildren with the fifth on the way; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Thursday, October, 18, 2012, from 6 to 8pm.

MABEL M. CONNORS

Mabel M. Connors, 101, of New Milford, PA passed away peacefully on October 14, 2012. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Mancuso, her second husband, Eddy Connors, her only daughter, Caroline Fisher, and son-in-law, Delbert Fisher Jr.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Scott Fisher, Brian Fisher, and Rodney and Jo-Ann Fisher; four great grandchildren, Ben, William, Brittany, and Joey; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, New Milford, PA. She loved her family and was anxiously anticipating becoming a great great grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, gardening, and taking care of the neighborhood’s stray cats. She never apologized for spoiling her grandchildren, great grandchildren, or pets. Mabel had a zest for life and lived an independent and full life right to the very end.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, New Milford, PA. Inurnment will be made in New Milford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 436, New Milford, PA 18834.

Raymond R. Kilmer

Raymond R. Kilmer, Sr., age 64, of Ararat Township, died Thursday afternoon, October 11, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Harmony Township, Susquehanna County. His wife is the former Sandy Price. They were married June 8, 1996.

Born January 28, 1948 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence, Sr. and Consetta (Corvino) Kilmer.

Raymond began his career at an early age and worked as a logger for many years before he became sole proprietor of Kilmer Bluestone Quarries in Susquehanna County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his many fishing trips to 1000 islands. Raymond was a hard worker, loved the outdoors, cooking, Nascar and hanging out in his man cave, his garage. His other favorite hangouts were Arlo's in Thompson and Lakey's in Susquehana. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one son: Raymond Kilmer, Jr. & wife Donna of Jessup, PA; three daughters: Christine Heid & husband Gerald of Peckville, PA, Amber Christiano of Jessup, PA and Taylor Kilmer of Thompson, PA; two step sons: Christopher Swanson & wife Erica of Susquehanna, PA and Nicholas Cicon of Thompson, PA; one step daughter: Tracy Bennett & husband Paul of Forest City, PA; nine grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Uhran of FL and Joann Telford of Crystal Lake, PA; four brothers: Fred Kilmer of Nicholson, PA, Ronald Kilmer of Forest City, PA, Douglas Kilmer of Union Dale, PA and Larry Kilmer of Mayfield, PA; several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Kilmer, Jr. and Robert Kilmer.

The funeral was held Tuesday morning, October 16, 2012, at 10:00 am from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, celebrated by Pastor Peg Knapich of the Clifford & Lenoxville United Methodist Churches, officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
