Bluestone Gathering has announced construction of a 10,500 square foot office and service center on Oliver Road in New Milford. Construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed by early next year. The facility will serve as the operations and maintenance center for Bluestone's planned natural gas pipeline network in Susquehanna County, PA and Sanford, NY.
Bluestone Gathering is a natural gas gathering system which includes a midstream pipeline and smaller diameter gathering lines connecting local gas production to the Millennium Pipeline and Tennessee Gas Pipeline. The Bluestone Gathering System is owned by DTE Energy, an integrated energy company providing gas and electric service to millions of Michigan homes and businesses and energy related services to businesses and industries nationwide.
In “Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders” Contest Madeline Mitchell, 14 a Pennsylvania Cyber School student has been selected as the eighth and final weekly winner of Susquehanna County’s “Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders” contest, a partnership among Chesapeake Energy Corp., several local nonprofits and regional media.

Madeline has been a member of 4H for the past nine years, starting as a ‘Clover Bud’. She is currently the treasurer and has held positions such as news reporter and game leader. In 4H, Madeline shows horses is always available to help other members with their projects. Madeline has qualified for Nationals two years in a row in fine arts and has placed in the top ten nationally for sign language. Madeline is a volunteer mentor at children’s church. She also volunteers her time with the local nursing homes by performing dances and songs and organizing ice cream socials. Madeline is currently taking two grade levels and maintaining excellent grades. She volunteers with Interfaith working with special events such as hoagie sales and Feed a Friend. She is involved in her community and assists in service work such as planting flower beds, garbage clean up and organizing collections for the local humane shelters. During the recent flood, Madeline worked with local organizations assisting with clean up, power washing and Red Cross deliveries. Madeline is a hard worker with a genuine heart and a leader within her community.
“Discovering Tomorrow’s Leaders” gives residents the opportunity to nominate Susquehanna County students who have displayed outstanding leadership qualities within the 4-H or any other student volunteer organization. One young leader, nominated by the community, will be selected each week for eight consecutive weeks through May. A new computer will be donated to each winner’s school. In May, two lucky winners will be selected from all honorees to win a personal laptop computer.
