Sister Rosella Salvato To Celebrate Jubilee


Sister M. Rosella Salvato, I.H.M. will celebrate her Golden Jubilee on Saturday, May 21. A Golden Jubilee is the fiftieth year of Profession for a religious. The day on which the vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience were made as a sign of one’s covenant with the Lord.

The occasion will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. John the Evangelist Church, Susquehanna, celebrated by Rev. Gerald F. Mullally, pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, Milford, PA. The Mass will be concelebrated by priest friends of the Jubilarian. The homilist will be Deacon Glenn J. Biagi, Catholic Chaplain for the inmates at Waymart Correctional Facility. Music for the Liturgy will be presented by Mr. Michael O’Malley, Music Director at St. Paul’s Parish, Scranton, PA.

Relatives of Sister M. Rosella and Sisters from St. Clare/St. Paul Parish, Scranton, PA, will take part in the Entrance and Offertory Procession, do the Readings, and the Petitions.

Sister M. Rosella is the daughter of the late Aniello and Rose Salvato. She is a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy, Susquehanna and Marywood University, Scranton. Sister taught in elementary schools in the Scranton Diocese, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Binghamton, NY, and is presently teaching at St. Clare/St. Paul School, Scranton, PA.

Joining in the celebration will be members of the Salvato family, including Louis Salvato, Genevieve Sassani, Mary Tanner, Anna Salvato and friends of the Jubilarian.
