AUGUST 10-12

RUMMAGE SALE: The Susquehanna Christ Episcopal Church, and Vantageness, NY will be holding a rummage sale. The sale is located at 1107 West Main Street, near the bridge, Susquehanna. The dates and times are Thursday and Friday, August 10 and 11, from 9AM to 4PM and Saturday, August 12 from 9AM to 1PM. Find great bargains!

AUGUST 11 and 12

PERSEID METEOR SHOWER: Join Salt Springs Park on August 11 or 12. Meet at the Wheaton House by 9PM and walk out to an open field to enjoy the falling stars. Feel free to bring blankets, lawn chairs, viewing cameras or telescopes. Guest’s may also bring snacks if desired. There will be a bonfire if the night is chilly.

AUGUST 12

HOLY COW FLOP BBQ: St. Pius X Church located at 3615 SR 106, Clifford Twp. PA,will be holding its Royal Holy Cow Flop BBQ on Saturday, August 12th from 12PM to 6PM. It includes Kundla’s chicken, refreshments, raffles, games, prizes and music. Tickets at the door or call Tina 570-254-9502

AUGUST 13

SERVICE: The United Methodist Community Church in Great Bend will be holding its UMCC-Great Bend Alive Together! Service on August 13, at 6PM. Explore the Commandments through reading and song as we look at “one God and No Idols”

LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY: Join the Montrose Bible Conference as we discuss the knowns, unknowns and some planning alternatives that can help ensure one’s ability to maintain financial independence and leave a lasting legacy. Seminar presenter is MBC ministry partner, Bernie Bostwick of Ambassador Advisors. HAM/CHICKEN BISCUIT DINNER: The Clifford United Methodist Church, located on Main Street Clifford, will be having a chicken and biscuit or ham dinner. Take out or dine in, on Wednesday August 16th from 4PM to 6PM. Includes dinner, dessert and drink.

AUGUST 19

BAKE SALE: There will be a Bake Sale, from 8AM to 5PM, to benefit the Lyme Disease Coalition, Inc. held at Tractor Supply in Montrose Pa on August 19th, 2017. Lyme Disease coalition, Inc. Representatives will also have a table to hand out FREE literature, and host a “Tick-Off” tick aid kit with information and supply to help prevent Lyme and tick-borne diseases. Come out and support the folks who are trying to help prevent further cases in our community!

SEPTEMBER 9

ROAST BEEF/TURKEY DINNER: The South Creek Lions Club will be holding a Roast Beef and Turkey dinner on Saturday, September 9th, 4:30PM at the Lions Hall on Route 14 in Gillett. The meal includes real mashed potatoes, vegetables, baked beans, homemade bread and home baked pies for dessert. Beverages include Coffee, Tea, and Lemonade. Take-Out is available.

Senior Center Menu, Aug 14-18

Monday: turkey hot brown sandwich, chicken and wild rice soup, balsamic tomato and cucumber salad,  strawberries and whipped cream.

Tuesday: cheeseburger, potato salad, confetti coleslaw and fresh apple slices.

Wednesday: roast turkey, brussel sprouts, buttered carrots, bread stuffing and pumpkin mousse.

Thursday: BBQ pork loin, mashed potatoes, green and wax beans, whole wheat roll and sugar cookie.

Friday: steak diane with grilled onions, boiled potatoes, roasted beets and carrots, whole wheat roll and pears and apricots.
