The Delmonico's 4-H club met on Monday, May 8th at 7PM. Leader Brad Sebring taught us our QAM (Quality Assurance Management) information and we completed our paperwork. We got our books and talked about our projects. The Livestock Clinic was June 3rd. Our flower beautification spot was discussed again and Dave is taking care of the flowers. Hannah told us about doing presentations and everyone signed up to do one at a meeting this summer. They only have to be about 5 minutes and since our club is so large we can do them in pairs. We also discussed our chicken BBQ fundraiser, which will be Sunday, June 25.

The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains is pleased to announce the formation of the Denise Reddon Memorial Fund that will provide annual support for the Athletic Department of the Susquehanna Community School District. This permanent endowment was established by Ms. Reddon’s family and friends to honor her years of service to the school district and the community.

Pictured (l-r) are: Bronson Stone-Superintendent Susquehanna Community School District, Mary Jane Reddon-mother of Denise, Peter Quigg-President Community Fondation.
Denise passed away in 2010 after having taught and coached at Susquehanna Community for 27 years. In addition to coaching girls’ basketball, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading, Denise was also the district’s Athletic Director. It is fitting that her endowment will provide annual assistance to support athletics in the school district. At her passing, Denise was also in her second term as Mayor of Susquehanna. The endowment’s first grant was recently provided to help the district prepare for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Donations to honor Denise’s years of school and community service and to assist the Athletic Department of the Susquehanna Community School District may be sent to: The Denise Reddon Memorial Fund at The Community Foundation, 270 Lake Avenue Montrose, PA 18801; or online at www.community-foundation.org.

As the county Dairy Princess, I am honored to have the privilege of going around our county and promoting the dairy industry and all that it includes. In the past two weeks, I am ecstatic to say I have successfully accomplished forty promotions! I have so much support from my court and can always rely on them to accomplish the promotions I cannot attend. We are always excited to attend new promotions and are always looking forward to promotions we have done in the past.
Our farmers work very hard to provide us with three plentiful servings of dairy every day. It is so important to acknowledge our farmers every day but it’s especially important to thank our farmers in the month of June because June is National Dairy Month! The month of June was first pronounced as National Milk Month in hopes to stabilize the growth of milk production. However, the National Council of Dairy decided to change its name to National Dairy Month, in hopes to promote all dairy products.
So, remember to consume your three servings of dairy every day. Don’t forget to thank local dairy farmers for all their hard work and efforts regardless of the weather or the economy.
