MARCH 29

HOMEMADE EASTER EGG: Wednesday, March 29 the eggs will be available for pick up on March 25th and April 1st at the Clifford United Methodist Church. To place an order, please call Robin Correll at 570-222-4344 or Lisa Bahrite at 570-222-5493.

LENTEN SERVICE: Wednesday, March 29 at 12:00pm at the Thomson United Methodist Church. Following the Lenten Service will be a soup/bread and dessert lunch as part of the Susquehanna Area Church ministry. All are welcome.

APRIL 1

13TH ANNUAL ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BREAKFAST: Saturday, April 1 from 7am to 10am at the United Methodist Community Church, Main St. Great Bend, PA. Ham and home fries, out “Famous” breakfast sausage, pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, danish, fruit and beverages. Proceeds benefit UMCC Youth Group Trip to Kingdom Bound Christian Festival.

INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATIC WOMEN of Susquehanna County Meeting: Saturday, April 1st at 2 p.m. at the Montrose United Methodist Church at  526 Church St. in Montrose. (Entrance to meeting hall is on parking lot side of the building). Interested women are encouraged to attend this newly formed group. Questions, call 570-785-5691

APRIL 8

SPRING DINNERS: Saturday, April 8th Roast Beef and Ham. Sunday, April 9th Roast Beef and Turkey, both to take place at the South Creek Lions Club in Gillett off Rout 14 at 4:30p. Dinners include “real” mashed potatoes, vegetables, baked beans and home baked bread.

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 8 Susquehanna Community Elementary School at 11:00AM. Ages 1-8, Egbert the Easter Bunny will be on hand to help with the hunt. Please bring your own baskets.

Senior Center Menu, April 3-7

MONDAY: Chicken and Sausage Bake, chuck-wagon corn, steamed brown rice, yogurt and fruit with granola.

TUESDAY: Glazed pork roast, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, whole wheat roll, apple slices.

WEDNESDAY: Turkey and dumplings, brussels sprouts, boiled new potatoes, dumplings, peach crisp.

THURSDAY: Beef burgundy, broccoli and carrots, whole wheat noodles, rice pudding.

FRIDAY: Fish Piccata, italian green beans, tomato bisque, crackers, fresh fruit salad.

Easter Egg Hunt Day

The Susquehanna Community Development Association Events Committee invites all of our young friends, ages one through and including eight to come and join in the fun and excitement of the  Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8th. This annual event starts at 11:00 AM and is being held at the Susquehanna Community Elementary School. Egbert the Easter Bunny will be on hand to welcome youngsters and their parents, as well as cheer on the “Egg Hunters”. If you participated last year, you know how much fun it is and that there are always surprises around every corner. Please plan to bring your own baskets or containers. We hope to see you there!

Concert Of Marches At Mtn. View School

In conjunction with Music in our Schools month, the Junior and Senior Bands of the Mountain View High School, along with the Lenoxville Community Band will present "A Concert of Marches" Thursday, March 30, 7 PM at the Mountain View High School Auditorium, on Route 106 near Kingsley, PA.   Each band will perform a few numbers individually and the night will end with a joint band performing a few numbers.  About seventy musicians, from age 13 to 85 are expected to participate in this inter generational event.  The event is free and open to the public.  The high school bands are under the direction of Mason Stiver and the Lenoxville Community Band is under the direction of Roland Decker.  For more information, contact Mason Stiver at the school 570-434-2181.

Spring Garden Day

Join the Penn State Master Gardeners for their 5th annual Spring Garden Day! This event features a variety of fun and educational gardening programs.  There will be several classes held throughout the day which include: raised bed and table top gardening, herbs & making herbal oils with a “taste it, make it, take it demo”, preparing your soil “a practical how-to approach”, plus much more. Demonstrations and displays will be on hand, plus door prizes and a silent auction to complete the day.
