Doris Elizabeth Benedict Ross
Doris Elizabeth Benedict Ross, (95) of Hallstead, PA died March 4, 2017. Doris was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, who also drove a school bus for the Blue Ridge School District (1961-1982). She and her husband enjoyed RV camping trips with family, especially ones to the beach, and wintering in central Florida. They enjoyed traveling around the US and Canada. She enjoyed religious music and found solace in playing the old hymns on her electric keyboard.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Leland M. Ross; her parents, Isabelle and Dean Benedict; her youngest son, Alan Leroy Ross; and her siblings, Bernice (John) Bailey, Ard (Ruth) Benedict, Hazel (Howard) Banker, and Everett (Minnie) Benedict; and sister-in-law, Cecile Fleming.
Surviving sons and wives include; William (Janet) of Lititz, PA, James (Jean) of Apalachin, NY, John (Gwen) of Hallstead, PA, Robert (Twila) of Bedford, VA. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, including Brenda Ross Walker, who was like a daughter to her. She had 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Thursday, March 8, 2017.
Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Theron A. Banker
Theron A. Banker, 85, formerly of Great Bend, PA passed away February 23, 2017 at his home in Florida.
Theron served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at IBM in Endicott, NY for 30 years. He opened his own business, Custom Machining, Inc. in Great Bend, PA. He was a supporter of the Shrine Hospital, a past master of Blue Stone Lodge #338, in Hallstead, was on the Legion of Honor of the Kalura Shrine, Endicott, NY. He was interested in airplanes, boats, golf, snowmobiling and hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dawn; his son, Daniel, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Miranda; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Janet and Warren Tompkins and Mary Lee and Robert Dayton.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA.
Spring internment will be made in Brookdale Cemetery.

Zachary Ryan Boman
Zachary Ryan Boman, 23 of Jackson Township, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Harpursville, NY.
Zachary was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Boman, Sr. and two uncles, Scott and Kurt Boman.
He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Lori (Bushong) Boman, Jr.; brother, Scott Boman and Mary Kemmerer; niece, Kadence Boman; grandparents, Carol and John Bushong and June Boman; aunts and uncles, Bill and Kathy Boman, Sandra and Earl Marvin, Jeanette and Jim Waters, Mary and Dave Cina, Jeff Bushong and Karen; Cousins, Ashley, Amanda, Brooke, Courtney, Danielle, Derek, Kalyn, Amber, Breanna, Becca.
Zach was loved by so many. His kind heart and loving soul will be remembered by all. He loved the outdoor activities of snowboarding, riding four wheelers, and camping. He also loved spending time with his family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was taken too young too soon but is where he needs to be now.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 7, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. David Cramer officiating.
Interment will be held in the Ararat Cemetery at a later date.
