Blue Ridge Hexagon Project Launches

Blue Ridge students in Sarrah Dibble-Camburn's art class are getting ready to launch their Hexagon Donation Containers into the public.  Students spent several weeks building and designing their Hexagon Project.  Using cardboard, plaster, paint and various other art materials, students chose their own theme for the project.

Containers will be placed in local businesses to collect change for Susquehanna County Interfaith's Fuel Assistance Program.  Putting their Art into Action, Blue Ridge students are helping people in their own community stay warm this winter using their artwork.

Pictured (l-r) are the Blue Ridge Period 8 Hexagon Project participants: first row- Ainsley Allen, Jubilee Delgado; second row-  Jack Condon, Cody Gleason; third row- Callie Wyatt, Glenn Henderson.

These projects are part of a bigger picture.  Students from around the world participate in the Hexagon Project every year, creating art that expresses interdependence...or a special connectedness we have with each other, the environment, and the world.  The projects will be on display in the Hexagon Project art show in the fall of 2017. Last year’s, Blue Ridge art students who participated won the "Outstanding Community Partnership" Award, 2016.
