Pancake Breakfast

On Saturday, November 12, all concerned citizens are invited to Short Stacks for a Cause, a special pancake breakfast to be held at the VFW Hall in Montrose.

Besides enjoying a hearty breakfast diners will be able to learn more about the hazardous waste incinerator proposed for Susquehanna County and how it could affect the health and well-being of everyone in this area.

The breakfast is organized by Susquehanna Clean Air Network (SCAN), a citizens action group working to oppose pollution of the air in the Endless Mountains. SCAN volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and educational materials will be available for everyone to take home to share with friends and neighbors.

The breakfast will include coffee/tea and orange juice, pancakes and sausage, ham and eggs, honey and pure maple syrup. Many generous local donors have contributed their products to the menu, including Stepniaks Meats of Hop Bottom, PA, Clodhopper Farm of Springville, Pour House of New Milford, Endless Mountains Apiary of Montrose, and Pricechopper of Montrose.

Raffle baskets will be awarded as well.

Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, at the VFW Hall on Route 706, Montrose. To buy advance tickets, call 570-798-SCAN (7226), or visit the SCAN website www.scancleanair.org.
