On the agenda, under Public Discussion, it was called “Hazardous waste incinerator,” and it’s freaking out some residents of the New Milford and Harford areas.

The June 15th New Milford Township meeting was standing room only, with people lining the sides and back of the room, in addition to those who arrived early enough for a chair. There was a sign on the door relating that the doors would open at 7 pm and by shortly after that time, there was already an impressive number of attendees for a meeting regularly attended by the supervisors, staff, press and, at most, a few visitors.  The number of attendees wasn't the only anomaly.  When there isn't controversy within the township's borders, the meeting regularly lasts between fifteen minutes and a half an hour.  That Wednesday, it ran much closer to an hour and a half.
