The annual Arbor Day Celebration took place at the Choconut Valley Elementary School on April 30.  The program was held inside, due to inclement weather.  All faculty and students attended. The program is sponsored by the Choconut Valley Garden Club and has taken place since shortly after the school was built.  The club plants and maintains all of the trees and gardens around the school.  This year memorial plantings will be done for Annie Gober, Holly Marie Eddy and Dan Eddy.

The program consisted of a flag salute followed by musical presentations by each grade level.  Songs presented included:  “Don’t Dump Trash”, “Big Beautiful Planet” and “Look Out For Mother Earth.”

Guest speakers included:  Jennifer Hibbard, Jim Garner, Linda Dovin, and Lily Theophanis.  Michaela Steele, a teacher, spoke about how she recycles juice boxes and water bottles from lunch program and presents the proceeds of the money to the PTO for their use.
