Lately Republican state legislatures have been making a big issue out of bathroom use-- as if transsexuals are a threat to rape women! Let me suggest a solution.
The problem is not transsexuals. The problem is the idea of gang restrooms to begin with. Frankly, I don't want anybody of any gender or any orientation to be in the room with me while I'm using the toilet. So instead of having a women's room with four stalls, and a men's room with four stalls, why not instead have eight individual cubicles that can be used by either gender or any orientation, one at a time, behind a lockable door?
Let's be practical. Government cannot monitor restroom use anyway. What, are they going to have inspections at the door? Conduct a DNA test? They'd sure have to hold it a long time!
I have never liked the idea of gang restrooms, so if this controversy results in public facilities dumping them, that would be a great thing.

Some years ago I had a column in a local newspaper called Sharing. The purpose of that column was to try to make people understand how very much Jesus loves them. I also shared some beautiful happenings on Corrigan's Mountain. I received many letters, some with questions, some with comments. When abortion became a woman's rights issue the paper insisted I was no longer able to speak on it in the column and being president of the Susquehanna County Chapter of Pennsylvanians for Human Life this was a glaring problem. I also became very ill so it seemed clear I should quit the column. I began a blog which was helpful in keeping contact with many of my readers, but illness eventually stopped even that. Today I am quite healthy and although I do not have the time or energy for another column I have begun another blog. I would like to invite you to join me. Once again I will Share the beautiful things in life. It does not matter one's circumstances, beauty is there in God's world. The most beautiful thing is God's love for each of us as though we were His only child. You may make comments, ask questions or just Share back by way of the blog. So feel free to join me in my Sharing once again. The blog is easily found through Google as #grandmascornerblog at word press.
Sincerely,
