HEADLINES: The Susquehanna County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution is proud to announce the recipient of its 2015 Community Achievement Award, Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” Feddock Brager, of Forest City. Peggy was born and raised in Forest City were she married Frank Brager and raised a son. Peggy was an organizer and founder of the Forest City Area Volunteer Ambulance Association over forty years ago and has served as an EMT and board member when it merged with the Forest City Fire Department. She was an American Red Cross certified instructor teaching standard and advance first aid and CPR for over twenty-five years. She was a Cub Scout Troop leader for forty-eight years; the Coal Streams District Order of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award (the Council’s highest award) were presented to her. Pennsylvania Department of Education recently decided that Keystone Exams will be delayed as a requirement for graduation until the 2018/2019 school year. Coupled with that decision is the state’s plan to link other tests of student performance to judge the quality of Pennsylvania’s educators, administrators, and school directors.
