Santa Has Breakfast In Susquehanna

On Saturday, December 5th, Santa took time out from his busy workshop at the North Pole and shared breakfast with the Children and their parents of the Tri-Borough area and beyond.

This event was sponsored by the Susquehanna Community Development Association.

Drew Hennessey, son of Sean and Kiera Hennessey, sharing a smile and his “Wish List” with Santa

There was a record turnout of approximately 300 who enjoyed the unseasonably mild temperatures and the scrumptious breakfast fare, cooked to perfection by the talented Chefs of the St. John’s Men’s Club. Santa’s friendly Elves, who served and helped with the early morning repast, also passed out goodie bags to the children, and are members of the Susquehanna Community Development Association.

Excitement was the word of the morning as anxious youngsters waited for their chance to talk with the much-beloved bearded gent and share their Christmas wishes, as well as if they had been good this past year. All of Santa’s little friends were treated to a paper reindeer filled with candy as a memento of this event. The reindeer had been lovingly created and donated by the Senior Center at Turnpike Terrace Apts. and we wish to thank them for all of their talent, kindness, and generosity as well as the following, without whom, this event would not have been a resounding success:  “The Friends of  Susquehanna County” for their generosity and support, Schneider’s Market for the donation of many of the ingredients for the yummy breakfast, American Legion Auxiliary # 86 for donating the pancake mix, Barnes-Kasson Hospital for donating the juice, the Nellie Jane Dewitt Business and Professional Women’s Club for the  fruit snacks, and last, but definitely not least, (or we’ll find coal in our stockings) Santa Claus, (Don DeWitt) for taking time out from his business schedule, and sharing joy and happiness with the children of our area. “Like” us on Facebook, “Susquehanna Community Development Association” where you will find photos of many of this year’s events.
