Children’s Choir Presents Concert

The Endless Mountains Children’s Choir will present a  Holiday Concert on Sunday December 20, 3PM at the South Gibson United Methodist Church. The choir consists of mostly new members this year and also choir chimes (donated by Dr. Sezer) have been added to the musical performance  of the choir’s holiday’s music. Another addition to the choir’s holiday’s perfromance will be new, beautiful  “changing color” LED candles.  As the choir does the processional and performs some of the selections, beautiful LED candles “light up” and enhance the performance.

The choir will take you on a musical journey to various countries  by performing carols in the native languages of those countries such as: “Jubilate Deo” (Latin Processional) , “Stille Nacht” (Germany),“Noel Nouvelet” (France), “Gesu Bambino” (Italy), “Luliejze Jesu” (Poland), “Deck the Halls” (England),  “Veni, Veni Emmanuel” (Latin Chant performed with the choir chimes),   “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” - (America), Trans Siberan Orchestra arrangment of the “Canon in D”; “Do You Hear what I Hear?”; ”Dona Nobis Pacem” (Grant Us Peace -performed in American Sign Language-sign language-leaders, Saige Klyman and Raleigh Kilmer) “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer/Holly Jolly Christmas”, “Santa’s Job Is A Snap”- (the “elfe rap” -we have our own elves who complain about how hard they must work).

Choir members will also perform some solos and choral ensemble selections: a choral ensemble will perform “Away in a Manger accompanied on guitar by Avery Tompkins; Raleigh Kilmer will perform “Jingle Bells” on piano; a choral ensemble will perform  “Jingle Bell Rock”; Adia Tompkins will perform a violin solo, “Theme from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony”, Saige Klyman will perform “All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth;  a piano Solo, “Hot Cross Buns” will be performed by Audrey Anderso.

Members of the choir include: Brooklyn Anderson, Paige Barnes, Chelsea Empet, Kaylee Evans, Leah Evans, Emily Gorham, Sarah Gorham, Addison Kilmer, Raleigh Kilmer, Saige Kleyman, Kylee Kozloski, Kelsey Peterson, Marybeth Robsky, Mimi Sedlak, Adia Tompkins, Addison Tompkins, Avery Tompkins.

The choir performed a holiday concert at the PA Capital Rotunda in Harrisburg on December 11.  They also performed a concert at the tree lighting at the United Methodist Church in South Gibson on December 12; a holiday concert at the Steamtown Mall on December 17; an a holiday concert at the Willowbrook Assisted Living Facility in Clarks Summit on December 17.

Please come and join us! All are invited to come and hear the wonderful carols from other countries of the world! Refreshments will be served after the concert. Dr. Christine Plonski Sezer is founder/artistic director of the choir.
