Candidate Speaks At N. M. Twp. Meeting

Jack Conroy was absent from the September 16 meeting of the New Milford Township supervisors, but there was a visitor present who did not normally attend.  A county commissioner hopeful came to the brief meeting, to speak of his candidacy.

Prior to the public to speak time, however, the supervisors dealt with various matters.  It was agreed that they would respond to the Great Bend Hose Company's request for a donation to the Fire Prevention Program at Blue Ridge, with a $100 dollar donation (as in the previous years).

The Township Auditor Elect, Peggy Maloof, had given her resignation effective September eighth.  The supervisors needed to appoint someone to fill the remaining term.  They motioned to accept the resignation, and then appointed Theresa White to fill the term, which went till the end of the year.  It was noted that she would need to be a write in during the election to remain in the role.

Notification was received that the Susquehanna County Conservation District had issued a General NPDES Storm Water Permit to Ireno Monteforte for the Gibson Commons construction activity.  There was also a subdivision request from Jim and Linda Hunter;  it was motioned that the supervisors send the normal letter regarding the latter, having no objections.

Chuck Bullock spoke during public discussion.  He related that he was running for county commissioner.  He lived in Auburn Township, and was a retired banker who had worked for Judge Seamans for the last two and a half years prior to resigning the position in order to run.  He had also served as a Director for Claverack.

The meeting adjourned less than fifteen minutes after it began.
