SUSAN M. SKIBA COLWELL
Susan M. Skiba Colwell, 56, of Binghamton, NY entered into rest on December 28, 2014. She is the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Skiba. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward M., Steven M., and Eric S. Skiba.
Susan is survived by her children, Timothy and Melissa Colwell, James and Sally Colwell, and Gregory Colwell; four grandchildren, Ethan, McKenna, Chloe, and Chase; two sisters, Teresa and Michael Dennis and Mary Ann and John Skinner; a brother, Mark and Sandy Skiba; and many nieces and nephews.
Susan enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bingo, and camping. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with them. Susan was a very outgoing person and would befriend anyone. She left a lasting impression on everyone she crossed paths with.
A funeral service was held Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Spring interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to St. Francis Church, 1031 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 or the American Red Cross, 26 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
AUDREY RUTH CLIFT LAHODA
Audrey Ruth Clift LaHoda, 92, of Hallstead, PA was called home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Stephen LaHoda, her son, Stephen LaHoda, her grandson, Samuel Jacob Bayuk, two brothers, Stanley and Guy Clift.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Bayuk; three grandchildren, Robert Bayuk, Hilary Harriet, and Casey Bayuk; four great grandchildren, Tristan and Nathan Harriet, Elijah Bayuk, and Una Smith; a sister, Janet Baxter; and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was a long time member of the United Methodist Community Church, volunteering in many capacities. She owned and operated the Hacienda along with her husband for 25 years. Following its closure, she worked for Sears and Roebuck as a supervisor of maintenance agreements. In her later years, she learned to ride a bicycle, paint, play the piano, basket weave, and make ornaments. Audrey loved to travel, visiting Italy, Ireland, England, France, Mexico, Guatemala and many destinations in the United States. She possessed a vibrant personality, enjoyed new experiences, and was very loyal to and generous with her family and friends.
A funeral service was held Monday, January 5, 2015 at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA. Spring interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Fred H. Williams
Fred H. Williams, 85 of Thompson, Pa. passed away Monday December 29, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD after an illness.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Jean (Silver) Williams; sister Rose Brown; grandson Jassmond Stone and great grandson Lenton Stone.
Fred is survived by 5 children Hope & Emerson Cottrell; Charlotte & John Stone; Robert & Robin Williams; Mark & Debra Williams; Dawn & Robert Gaffey; sister Mabel Sheldon; stepsister Violet & Al Appleman; sister-in-law Marleen & Elvin Carver; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
He was the former owner of Fred’s Market in Susquehanna for many years and in 1996 was the Greater Susquehanna Area Chamber of Commerce, Man of the Year. Fred was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #794 of Susquehanna.
The funeral service was held on Sunday January 4th at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, Pa. with Pastor Kevin Setzer officiating.
Burial will be in the Ararat Cemetery in Ararat, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susquehanna Community High School or Blue Ridge High School Varsity Sports Programs.
