NEPA Is Planning For The Future

NEPA Community Health Care continues to plan for its future with the recent launch of two new financial endowments at The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains.  The NEPA Community Health Care Capital Campaign Fund will provide an opportunity for donors to support the immediate needs of the local health care organization as it continues to expand in response to the needs of the community.  The permanent NEPA Community Health Care Fund will allow donors to contribute to an ever-growing interest bearing account that will provide annual support for the ongoing operating expenses of NEPA Community Health Care.  Contributions to both funds are fully tax-deductible and will provide vital support for affordable health care in Susquehanna County and beyond.

NEPA Community Health Care has been serving the rural safety net population of this region for more than 30 years.  The organization’s mission is to provide exceptional health care to all those who seek it.  Services currently include Primary Care, OB/GYN, Well Child Examinations, 340 B Discounted Prescription Program, and WIC (Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program).  Health Centers are currently located in Susquehanna and Hallstead. The centers are poised to launch an integrated behavioral health program on December 1, 2014, providing the county with desperately needed behavioral health services. The community will be further served by a school based health center opening in the Susquehanna Community School District in December 2014.

A new facility is planned to open at Tannery Place in Montrose in 2015.  Health center services will include primary care, behavioral health, and OB/GYN services.  A two-suite birthing center for low risk deliveries will be completed in Phase 2 of the expansion. This facility will be the main provider of obstetric care and the only site for births in Susquehanna County.  The family focus of the health center will be further supported by hosting the central WIC office for the county.

The two new charitable funds administered by The Community Foundation will provide an opportunity for donors to participate in building a stronger health care infrastructure and improve the quality of life in our region.  Contributions will have an immediate benefit for NEPA Community Health Care as well support fiscal stability for years to come.  These two endowments join the current 170 charitable funds managed by The Community Foundation that benefit all aspects of life in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  Tax deductible donations to The NEPA Community Health Care Capital Campaign Fund and to The NEPA Community Health Care Fund can be made online at www.community-foundation.org or by mailing donations to The Community Foundation at 270 Lake Avenue Montrose, PA 18801.  For more information about NEPA Community Health Care please visit www.nepachc.org.
