The Susquehanna Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) will hold a meeting to present talks about wildlife habitat improvement projects and deer hunting. The meeting/presentations will be held on November 16th, starting at 6pm (doors open at 5) at the Central Conservation Club near South Montrose, Pa. The Branch Directors decided to hold the meeting on a Sunday evening to not interfere with Saturday deer and small game hunting, along with many family and social activities.
Branch Vice President Mike Koneski notes “… the talks presentations will focus on habitat work done by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) and the Branch, how and what you can do to make your hunting habitat better with some short segments of videos from QDMA and other organizations.” Mike may also talk about his latest education efforts in taking Deer Steward II. Branch director Matt Sellers says “… some of the best sources of habitat improvement and deer management information come from the QDMA, NorthCountry Whitetails, and Growing Deer TV. I find that I also learn when I talk (exchange info. and ideas) with like-minded people.” Another Branch Director Jerry Rusek remarks…” my whole family (wife, daughter and son) are involved in QDMA. The hunting club that I am a member of has seen some great habitat and hunting improvements as a result of learning of being involved with the local QDMA branch.”
The meeting and presentation is open to everyone – you do not have to be a member of QDMA to attend. Suppertime type refreshments will be available ( a small donation will be requested with the money going to one of the groups/organizations/activities that the branch supports – such as Hunters Sharing the Harvest, working man supplies for the PGC Food and Cover Corps or the Wildlife Leadership Camp for Youth). Free information and handouts. QDMA books, signs and other items will be able to be purchased.
