Elk Lake High School Students Of Month

French, Staros In S U Honors Program

Austin French and Emily Staros have been accepted to Susquehanna University's highly selective Honors Program. The Honors Program at Susquehanna offers a challenging academic program to students interested in a more self-directed and interdisciplinary approach to learning.

Students are chosen for their natural curiosity, passion for learning, high energy, leadership and academic standing in high school. Approximately 10 percent of each entering class is invited to join the Honors Program. To remain in the program, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.4.

Austin of Susquehanna, is a business administration-finance major at Susquehanna. He is a graduate of Blue Ridge High School and the son of Larry and Margie French.

Emily, of Thompson, is a biology major at Susquehanna. She is a graduate of Susquehanna Community High School and the daughter of Stan and Lisa Staros.

Joseph Ingaglio Makes LU Dean's List

Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been awarded to Joseph Ingaglio of Hop Bottom, PA in the Spring, 2014 semester at Lehigh University.

Elk Lake School Students Of Month

Mr. Marc Weisgold, Elementary Principal at the Elk Lake School, is pleased to announce the school year September, 2014 Student of the Month Award winners.

Students in kindergarten, first, second grade were selected by their homeroom teachers.  Students may be selected as student of the month from four different areas.  Those four areas are academic achievement, attendance, citizenship and most improved.
