Wonder Why?

Why Would Cabot Oil and Gas go after a senior-citizen woman with a camera, who lives on her social security and pension and spends a lot of time exposing them and letting the world know the harms they are doing?

Wonder why she has to have a special injunction to keep her 100' off the public roads that surround their access roads in our county and keep her 100' away from their sites even if she has landowner permission to be on their property...

Now I am that woman and the only one with this restriction to my personal freedoms to freely move on public roads and properties with permission....

Wonder why??

Why does Cabot Oil and Gas not tell others on their Company Tours about the 560 DEP Violations so far in our county, and doesn't tell them about the 23 Filtration Systems in Sheds on private properties where they contaminated the water wells and now maintain them for years, spending $38,000 to $100,000 for these systems?

Wonder why Cabot Oil and Gas doesn't show these homes on their Company Tours and doesn't show the homes in Dimock, Lenox, Springville, Meshoppen where their gas wells have contaminated water wells?

I wonder why?

Wonder why Cabot doesn't tell those on their Company Tours the $100's of thousands they have been fined for their DEP Violations and the DEP Consent Order which prohibits them from any further drilling or fracking in 9 sq. miles in Dimock, which has water contamination since they started drilling there in 2008.

I wonder why?

Wonder why they don't show how close their gas well pads can be in our communities -- 1/4, 1/2 mile apart.

Wonder why Cabot doesn't show the repair rig on SR 3023, Dimock, trying to repair a leaking gas well since Feb. 2013. Why don’t they talk about all the other gas wells that had to be plugged with cement to try to stop them from leaking into the aquifers....

Wonder why Cabot doesn't show all the homes with water deliveries of bottled water and water buffaloes being filled with replacement water in our county, like Dimock, Lenox, etc, still going on and new ones being added to the list, like on SR 3023.

Wonder why Cabot doesn't show all the landowners with little or no royalities after being leased to Cabot and surrounded by gas wells and now the production is down and royalties are slipping away like having 24 acres leased to Cabot and get less than $100.00 a month for it.

I've been on two Cabot Company tours and see what they show and for some reason, they leave out all the stuff I mention above that makes them look like a bad operator that sorely needs to be shutdown. Cabot leaves out all the harms they have done and are doing to us...surprising isn't it.

Well, I will continue to give my Citizen Gas Tours, usually weekly to folks, media, legislators from New York, New Jersey, Pa. and from all over the world and continue to show how they are a serious danger to our county, State, world and wonder why Cabot considers me a "danger"....?

Sincerely,

Vera Scroggins

Just Watch The Game

Imagine stirring controversy by getting penalized for offering up a prayer of gratitude.  And that’s what the fickle finger of fate tapped on the helmet of Kansas City Chiefs Safety Husain Abdullah.  After returning an interception for a touchdown, he prostrated himself in the manner of Muslim prayer, whereupon, a referee threw a penalty flag for “unsportmanlike conduct”.

Whatever the merits of the case, I’m reminded of an anecdote, starring baseball legend Yogi Berra, a first-rate catcher and noteworthy sage.  In dismay, he uttered the unforgettable “déjà vu all over again”.

Anyway this happened, when he was down in the minors, learning how to use the tools of the fool.  During a few encounters with a rival team, Yogi noticed that one player on that team seemed pretty religious.  Before he would step into the batter’s box, he’d trace a cross in the dirt with his bat.  Every time it was his turn at bat, he’d trace that cross.

Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, the game could be won with a double.  And that rather religious player was up at bat.  Once again, he traced that cross in the dirt with his bat, and then went to the batter’s box.  Before stepping in, he returned to where he traced a cross, and then traced a second.  Inches away from the batter box, he scurried to the two crosses and traced a third.

Yogi arose out of his crouch, sauntered to the three crosses, and with his left foot, scuffed them away.  Looking at the other player, shocked enough for his jaw to have dropped down to his chest, Yogi said, “For crying out, let God just watch the game.”

Sincerely,

A Alexander Stella
