Air Force Airman 1st Class Stefan C. Swegel graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Swegel earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Stephen Parker of Shreveport, La., Chris Holomon of Arcadia, La., Destrianne S. Summerhill of Herrick Center, Pa. and Jeffrey R. Swegel of Herrick Center, Pa. and the grandson of Noreen Swegel of Herrick Center, Pa., Patricia A. Parker of Shreveport, La., and Robert V. Swegel of Herrick Center, Pa.

He is a 2008 graduate of Radford High School, Honolulu, Hawaii.
