Annual Maple Weekend Set

It’s a weekend of sweet treats and family fun as area maple syrup producers invite the public to visit and explore during the Endless Mountains Maple Syrup Producers Association Annual Maple Weekend March 22 & 23.

Grab the family or a few friends and set off on the self-guided driving tour of maple syrup producers in Bradford County and the western half of Susquehanna County. Each producer will be hosting an open house, giving visitors a first-hand look at how sap is boiled down (weather permitting) to make that deliciously sweet topping so many people love with their breakfast pancakes and waffles.

But there is more to maple than just syrup! Be sure to sample some maple candy, popcorn, cream, cotton candy, and other treats along your travels. On the educational side of the weekend – learn about the age old tradition of “sugaring” as well as some new technology that has brought the maple producing industry to a new level. Some open houses will also offer other demonstrations such as spinning, give tours of their facilities, and a few other surprises.

There is no admission fee and open house hours vary per individual producer. Please check with the individual producers for hours. A list of participating producers, map and phone numbers can be found at www.pamapleassociation.org - click on tours, then Endless Mountains Maple Syrup Producers Association - details. Print map.

For more information on the Endless Mountains Maple Syrup Producers Association or the maple weekend, contact John or Kelly Mann at 570-537-6676.
