Henry G. Barnes

Henry G. Barnes, 81, of Susquehanna, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital after a short illness.

He was predeceased by his mother and father Raymond and Lillian (DePoe) Barnes; and his four brothers Herb, Donald, Roger, and Alvin.

Henry was survived by his loving wife Carol (Merritt) Barnes; three children, Richard, Cara, and Arthur; Seven grandchildren Cortney, Lauren, Kayla, Melissa, Cherry, Christopher, and Baily; seven great grandchildren, Sahara, Rheanna, Madison, Malia, Aiden, Stefanie, and Sara; nine brothers and sisters, Clyde, Florence, Albert, Marian, Thomas, John, Fred, Martha, and Raymond; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After, he worked on the Railroad for 40 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoor sports of hunting and fishing. Henry was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. John’s Church, in Susquehanna, PA, on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11am.

Gail A. Cook

Gail A. Cook, born March 8, 1943, went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2014. She was predeceased and now joins her parents, Robert and Shirley Williams, and her brother, Gary Williams. Gail is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele Cook and Christian Pichler, daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brian Kuiper, and her grandchildren Austin Kuiper, Mark Pichler, and Abigail Kuiper. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gay and Bob Keyes, sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Jack Gumaer, sister-in-law, Gale Williams Reddon, and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and an uncle.

Gail was a member of the Starrucca Baptist Church. She worked at Matis Manufacturing for many years and in recent years worked at Benson Brothers. Gail was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. “Aunt Gail,” as she was affectionately known, will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and giving woman who touched the lives of many people.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Starrucca Baptist Church, Starrucca, PA.

Cindy A. Westbrook

Cindy A. Westbrook, 46, of Broad Avenue, Susquehanna, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.

She was predeceased by her father Harold Westbrook, grandparents Harold and Margaret Westbrook, and Helen and Kenneth Carpenter, and her husband Michael Vaughn Cina

Cindy is survived by her three daughters Kristen Cina, Dominique Cina, Gabrielle Cina, grandson Maddox Cina, her mother Vivian Westbrook, two brothers Harold Westbrook, Jeff and Colleen Westbrook, father-in-law; Michael Cina, nieces Ashley Westbrook and Lyla Carpenter, nephew Cody Westbrook, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was a Nurse’s Aide for 17 years at the Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, recently going to school at EBI for Medical Assistance. Cindy was very involved with her grandson Maddox and was a very loving and caring mother, daughter and sister who will be dearly missed.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA, with Pastor Gary Day officiating.

Burial will be in the Lambs Cemetery, Jackson, PA at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Cindy Westbrook memorial fund at Peoples Neighborhood Bank, Susquehanna, PA.
