Gerald C. Welch

Gerald C. Welch, 72 of Ellenton Florida, passed away September 29, 2013, in Manitie Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Jerry was born April 13, 1941 in Susquehanna, Pa, the son of the late Robert and Mary (Bayless) Welch. He was predeceased by two sisters, Sheila Hamliy of Cherry Ridge and Michele Lankford of Susquehanna.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia, daughter Holly (Michael) Meier, granddaughter Nikii (Lucas) O’Neil, and Trisha Meier, five sisters - Roberta Welch, Conklin; Patricia Barnes, Susquehanna; Joan Ksenich, Uniondale; Peggy (David) Soden, Starrucca; Connie (John) Gawron, Florida; brother Robert, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Before his retirement to Florida, Jerry worked for General Motors in Tarrytown, NY as an industrial painter then moved to Binghamton, NY where he continued his career.

Jerry’s greatest joy was going to stock car races, working on the cars and watching NASCAR races on television.

A memorial service was held October 12 at the Bay Shore House, Coloney Cove, Ellenton, Florida.

Marcella Grace McMahon

Marcella Grace McMahon, 91, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at the Loretto Nursing Home in Syracuse, NY.

She was born in Lanesboro, PA, the daughter of the late William T. and Grace (Shuman) Caden.

She was predeceased by her sisters Rosemary Zeigler, Syracuse, NY, Monica Pooler, Lanesboro, PA and her brothers Francis Caden, Clarks Summit, PA and Leo Caden, Unadilla, NY.

Marcella is survived by a very dear friend Angelo Museums, Syracuse, NY, sister-in-law Evelyn Caden, Clarks Summit, PA, a brother-in-law Francis Zeigler, Syracuse, NY, a niece Bonnie Belknap and husband Ronald, Kempton, PA, a nephew William Caden, Riverside, NJ and nephews Terry Caden and wife Barb, York, PA, Rodney Caden and wife Jill, Clarks Summit, PA, Thomas Caden and wife Linda, Houston, TX, cousins and several great nieces and nephews.

She was retired from the Continental Can Co., Syracuse, NY after many years of faithful and dedicated service.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The funeral was held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA, with Rev. David Cramer officiating.

Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery, Lanesboro, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA.
