Betty Ann Calvert, 67, of East Church St. Susquehanna, PA, passed away at home on Saturday, July 20, 2013. She was born in the San Diego Naval Hospital on August 29, 1945, to Gloria and the late Richard Calvert.
She was predeceased by her three husbands, John Lycke, Herb Whitaker, and Vince Long.
Betty is survived by her four children Tina and Ray Compton, Julie and James Ballard, John Lycke, and Kenny Whitaker; three brothers and sister-in-law Robert, Raymond, and Ted and Brenda; grandchildren Brittany, Ashley,and James Jr. Ballard, Bradley Compton, and Ashley Lycke., several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Friday, July 26, 2013, at noon, with Rev. Ted Calvert officiating.
Burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 11 to noon on Friday.
Barbara A. Mikelaitis Huyck
Barbara A. Mikelaitis Huyck, 72, of Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Meadow View Senior Living Center, after an illness.
Barbara was born in Cooperstown, NY, to the late Phillip W. and Olga Josephine (Viziak) Domion. She was predeceased by her Step-Mother Janice Domion; her brothers Edward Domion, Monte Roy Domion, and Phillip (Sunny) W. Domion Jr.
She is survived by her life partner of 37 years Fred Huyck Sr.; four children Rex Kelsey Jr. of Susquehanna, PA, Roxanne and Joe D’esti of Vestal, NY, Fred and Gerry Huyck of Lancaster, PA, and Wayne and Stacey Huyck of Susquehanna, PA; three sisters Connie Nasser, Joan Lahr and Jennifer Eggleston; eight grandchildren, Josh Kelsey, Gabriella, Frank and Joey D’esti, Nathan and Fred Huyck III, Taylor and Lauren Huyck; and several special family members.
Barbara was an avid bingo player and was a member of the Canawacta Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary. She also spent many years providing child care local families. Most of all Barbara loved spending time with her family who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at 4pm. with Pastor Gary Day officiating.
Burial will be held in the South Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 2 to 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Montrose, PA, or the Robert Packer Oncology Department, Sayre, PA.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Robyn and Emily for spending so much time with Barbara during her illness. Also, the family thanks Pastor Gary Day and his staff at the First Baptist Church in Susquehanna, PA, and the staffs at the Robert Packer Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospice.
