Invitation To Attend Dairy Pageant

Susquehanna County’s dairy promotion team gather for a picture at a recent promotion: front - Emory Bewley, Samantha Warner, Alexis Parks and Reese Allen; back - Mercedes Spickerman, Madeline Mitchell, Callie Curley and Mariah Tompkins.

Callie Curley, Susquehanna County Dairy Princess from Montrose is about to complete her reign as County Dairy Princess. Callie and her Court would like to invite you to the 2013 Dairy Princess Pageant which will be held on Friday, May 24, 7:30 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, Church Street in Montrose.

During her reign as Princess, Callie was joined by members of her court, Dairy Ambassadors Mariah Tompkins, Mercedes Spickerman and Madeline Mitchell, Dairy Maids Emory Bewley, Samantha Warner, Alexis Parks and Reese Allen, promoting the dairy industry in Susquehanna County. Over 90 school promotions took place telling school children the importance of eating three servings of dairy daily choosing milk, cheese or yogurt. Members of the Court had over 50 dairy related articles printed in local newspapers as well as 80 plus promotions were held at farm and non-farm events around the County. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Susquehanna Counties’ dairy promotion team.

Callie represented Susquehanna County at the State Dairy Princess Pageant in September and was crowned Pennsylvania First Alternate. Callie then took on many responsibilities state-wide promoting the dairy industry and will continue her state work until the 2013 state Pageant takes place this September.

Pennsylvania’s State Dairy Princess, Mary Jo Nobel from Bradford County and State Alternate Heather Wasson from Centre County will join Callie completing the State Dairy Royalty team at Susquehanna County’s Pageant, each speaking about some of their experiences serving the Pennsylvania dairy industry.

Presenting the evening’s program will once again be former Susquehanna County Dairy Princesses. A dairy promotion scholarship will be presented as well as promotion and scrapbook awards.

As County Dairy Princess, Callie Curley will give her farewell speech highlighting her achievements. Current members of the Dairy Court will each speak about their dairy promotion experiences.

The Pageant will conclude with Callie crowning the new 2013/2014 Susquehanna County Dairy Princess, Mercedes Spickerman. A reception for the Dairy Princesses and Court will follow with refreshments provide by the Dairy Promotion Committee.

You are invited to join us at our Pageant celebrating the dedicated dairy farmers in Susquehanna County and all the work the Dairy Princess and her Court do to promote dairy. Hope you enjoy your “3 Every Day” of dairy!

For more information please call Evie Goff or Mary Puzo at 278-1212.
