Susquehanna Community High School announced that the Claire Williams O'Neil Foundation will be funding an intensive SAT preparation program for SCHS that will allow its seniors to strengthen their applications to colleges and universities.
It involves two months of intensive additional tutoring on a voluntary basis and aims to encourage SCHS students to raise their aspirations to compete for places in the best colleges in the nation.
If the first year trial is successful, it could lead to the program being continued in future years.
The Claire Williams O'Neil Foundation has been involved with SCHS for the past decade, awarding college scholarships of up to $20,000 per year to outstanding SCHS students. Past winners have attended schools such as Boston University, Texas A&M, NYU, Syracuse, Carnegie Mellon, Pratt Institute and Notre Dame.
