Maria A. Diaz (aka Mary), 60, passed into eternal rest on December 25, 2011 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in New York, New York. Maria leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Charles Stankevich; her son Michael; her daughter Anne; and many friends whom she loved.

Maria was the daughter of Maria F. Diaz, and her father Manuel Diaz, who preceded her in 2006. In addition to her mother, other survivors include sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Church of Nicholson. She chose cremation and burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery where a private service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
