VICTOR “SMITTY” L. SMITH

Victor “Smitty” L. Smith, of New Milford Township, PA, formerly of Kenilworth, NJ, entered into rest on July 23, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Margaret. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Violet Smith; four sisters; and two brothers.

Also surviving is a brother, Clayton and Margo Smith, SC; a sister-in-law, Catherine Kramer Kokai, Kenilworth, NJ; and many nieces and nephews, including Clayton Smith, William Smith, John Kokai, and David Kokai.

Victor retired in 1992 as the police Sargeant , Local #135, serving in the community of Kenilworth, NJ for 25 years. He was the only member of his department to receive an award for valor and a frequent officer of the month. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Kenilworth V.F.W, a member of the Kenilworth Veterans Center, the Korean War Veterans Association, Inc., and the American Legion.

Victor was a skilled hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working on his farm here in Pennsylvania.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA. Friends may call from 9-11 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA, prior to the Mass. The family will provide flowers.

Should friends so desire expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Columbia Hose Company NO 1, P.O. Box 599, New Milford, PA 18834.

AGNES E. BROZONIS

Agnes E. Brozonis, 85, of Clifford Township, died Tuesday morning at home after an extended illness. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bernard Brozonis.

Born August 26, 1925 in Forest City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Zedar) Lavriha.

She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish at St. Pius X Church and its Altar and Rosary Society in Royal, PA. She loved canning, gardening, baking, cooking and singing in the church choir.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank Home Health Hospice, especially Allyson and Dawn who provided for her nursing needs with both compassion and respect. A special thank you is also extended to family and friends for their concern and support during Agnes's illness.

She is survived by two children, Donna Runco Howard and husband Alan of Archbald, PA and Thomas Brozonis and wife Dawn of Clifford, PA; five grandchildren, Jason and Erica Runco, Bryan, Dalton, Wyatt Brozonis; one great grandchild, Alexander Zang; three sisters, Dorothy Toth of Clarks Summit, PA, Veronica Mayers and Caroline Krupovich both of Clifford, PA; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Lavriha; and one sister, Marian Medved.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, August 4 from St. Pius X Church, State Route 106, Royal, celebrated by the Rev. Michael J. Kirwin, pastor. Cremation was to follow the mass.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
