Christ Episcopal To Observe Feast Of The Transfiguration

Christ Church, Susquehanna, has announced its annual observance of the Solemnity of the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Jesus Christ for Sunday, August 7 at 9:00 a.m. The Rev’d Randy Webster, priest at Christ Church, will officiate and preach. The Feast of the Transfiguration is the traditional “feast of title” or parish patronal feast day for parishes bearing the name “Christ Church,” and is one of three parish festivals that Christ Church observes; the other two being Corpus Christi and the Feast of Christ the King.

Benediction of the Most-blessed Sacrament will be celebrated at 2 p.m. The Rev’d Paul Walker, Rector of St. Paul’s in Montrose, will officiate at Benediction; The Rev’d Randy Webster, priest at Christ Church, will serve as the organist. English tea will follow the service which is open to the public.

Christ Church is a welcoming and affirming church in the Anglican tradition, and is located at 1107 West Main Street in Susquehanna.

Upcoming Events At Great Bend Alliance

The Great Bend Alliance Church, located at 160 Randolf Street in Great Bend, will host a Community Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, August 20, at 8:00 a.m. The purpose of this event is to foster a spirit of cooperation among the churches in the Great Bend area. This is a free event. There will be a time of fellowship, rejoicing together and an opportunity to pray for one another.

The Great Bend Alliance Church will also host a Community Grief Support group on Saturday August 20, at 6:00 p.m. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, this free event is for you. Come and share your feelings with others in a non-threatening, non-judgmental atmosphere. There will be a time of fellowship and an opportunity to pray for one another.
