JENNIE “MITZI” SHIELDS Jennie “Mitzi” Shields, of Hallstead, PA passed away peacefully on May 15, 2011 in Binghamton General Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Thomas. Also surviving are her sons, James and Pamela Shields and John Shields; three grandchildren, Jack, Ryan, and Kate Shields; two brothers, Frederic and Rachel Patton and Thomas and Helen Patton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Koons. Mitzi attended the First Baptist Church of Hallstead. She loved to train horses, raise farm animals, and volunteered with the local 4-H. For many years she enjoyed bowling, earning a number of trophies. Mitzi, with a soft heart and an adventurous spirit, was the perfect life partner for Tom and she will be dearly missed. A private service was held at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA. Interment was made in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Great Bend/Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 793, Great Bend, PA 18821. WILLIAM JOHN STEWART William John Stewart, 71, of Leesburg, FL went to be with his lord, at home, after an illness, on May 15, 2011. He is predeceased by his father, Lowell (Lefty) Stewart; mother, Annetta Rose Stewart; brothers, Richard and Douglas; and daughter, Nadine Lynn Stewart. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marylu E. Stewart, Leesburg, FL. He is also survived by a brother, Greggory Stewart and wife Rose, Susquehanna, PA; his sister, Patricia Trieble, Susquehanna, PA; two sons, William Colt Stewart and wife Margie, Mayfield, PA and Eugene Arther Stewart and wife Ann, Susquehanna, PA; two daughters, Corina Starr Nier and husband Scott and Beth Anne Terpstra and husband Billy, both from Susquehanna, PA. He is also survived by 25 grand children, 8 great grand children, and numerous nieces and nephews, a special pet dog, (cuddles), and many special friends in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. He was member of the Presbyterian Church in Lanesboro, PA; a united states army veteran of the Korean conflict; the Canawacta Masonic Lodge #360 in Susquehanna, PA; Fraternal Order of Eagles #4273 in Okahumpka, FL. He worked many years, and retired from the international chemical workers union, local #306 in Binghamton, NY. He was the former president of the Foxton Lake Association in North Jackson, PA. He was a very hard working man, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, uncle and, special to all that knew him. He was known for his wit, generosity, and his many stories. A memorial will be held at the Foxton Lake Clubhouse, North Jackson, PA on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at 3 p.m. with Rev Carl Batzel officiating. A Masonic ceremony will be held at the time of the memorial.
