WILLIAM S. GELATT

William S. Gelatt, 76, of Gibson Township, PA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility. He is survived by his loving wife Donna of fifty-four years. He is the son of the late Morgan and Euretha Smith Gelatt.

Also surviving are two sons, Alan C. and Joan Gelatt and Kenneth D. and Nora Gelatt; four grandchildren, Emily, William, David, and Matthew Gelatt; a brother, Robert and Nellie Gelatt; a sister, Barbara Lane; a sister-in-law, Florence Gelatt; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Mark William; a brother, Raymond Gelatt; a sister and her husband, Maxine and Melvin Whitney; brother-in-law, Gary Lane; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Keane; and Army buddy and close friend, Dale Lea.

Bill was a proud veteran of the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he was a self employed contractor, equipment operator, and electrician by trade, passed down from his father.

Bill was a 30 year Republican Committee person. He was a member of the American Legion of Pennsylvania and the Thompson Baptist Church. Bill served as the caretaker of the Gibson and Gelatt Cemeteries for 45 years.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Thompson Baptist Church. Inurnment was made in the Gelatt Cemetery.

BEVERLY ANN NORRIS

Beverly Ann (Edwards) Norris, 72, of Susquehanna, PA passed away Friday May 14, 2010 at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna after an illness.

She was born in Great Bend, PA, the daughter of the late Charles & Nellie (Swisher) Edwards. She was predeceased by her stepfather James Strain; sister and brother-in-law Shirley & Salvatore Zenobia; brother Junior Edwards and brother-in-law Donald Norris.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband Jack Norris; sons and daughters-in-law Donald & Debbie Norris, Richard & Linda Norris, Christopher & Mary Norris, Jeffrey & Shannon Norris; daughters and sons-in-law Suzanne & Jody Stanley, Stacy & Wayne Huyck; grandchildren Liane & Michael Fabrizi, Chad & Bobbi Jo Norris, Danielle & Michael Carmody, Jared & Stephanie Norris, Lynne Norris, Cody & Kacey Norris, Sean, Craig & Alexa Stanley, Taylor & Lauren Huyck; brother Frederick & Peggy Edwards; sister-in-law Joan & John Eymer; six great grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews.

Beverly graduated from Laurel Hill Academy and Marywood College. She was co-owner of BK Norris Distributor, a social worker, substitute teacher, chairperson of the Susquehanna Revitalization Committee and hospital volunteer. She was very devoted to St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Susquehanna, a CCD teacher, member of the Altar and Rosary Society, choir and a Eucharistic Minister.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.

The funeral service was held on Monday May 17, 2010 at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna and at the St. John’s Church where a mass of Christian Burial was offered by Rev. David Cramer.

The burial was in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna.
