RITA CLEVELAND BOOZE

Rita Cleveland Booze, formerly of Susquehanna, died May 28, 2009 in Hospice Family Care, Prescott, Arizona after an illness. She was the wife of James Booze for 42 years.

Born December 2, 1942 in Susquehanna, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Jane Johnson Cleveland, she was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy and attended Marywood University. Before retirement to Arizona, she was employed many years as a psychic Tech at the Adnew State Hospital, Santa Clara, California.

Surviving are two daughters, Alicia, Arizona and Millane; 3 grandsons, Michael, Matthew and Martin, with whom Rita was especially close, all of Raymore, Missouri; a sister Rachael and 3 nieces of Red Bluff, California.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Gene Cleveland and a nephew, Robert, all of California, plus grandparents Robert and Ann Johnson, Susquehanna, with whom she lived many years.

Rita loved her family and home and will be deeply missed by them and her friends.

At her request, cremation will be in Arizona with a memorial at a later date in Maui, Hawaii, where she spent many happy times.

FLORENCE A. COLWELL

Florence Colwell, 68, of Susquehanna, PA passed away, Monday, May 25, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Scranton, PA. She was predeceased by her husband of more then 45 years, John J. Colwell on December 15, 2008. She was born on Long Island to the late Herbert and Ellen Butler Goodfellow.

Florence is survived by two daughters, Ann Colwell and her companion Aaron White and Marel Delaney and husband James; four grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Yeisley and Timothy and Elizabeth Delaney; two sisters Ellen Romeo and Catherine Goodfellow; and many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from cosmetology school and worked as a beautician in New York prior to the birth of her children. She was an avid gardener, volunteered with meals on wheels, and a member of the United Methodist Church, Susquehanna, PA.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA.

ROBERT RAY SCAGGS

Robert Ray Scaggs, 73 of Great Bend, PA passed away May 21, 2209 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward Scaggs and Maude Mooney, West Virginia.

Ray is survived by his daughter Melinda (Mindy) Sanders, Edward Ray Scaggs and granddaughter Chelsea B. Sanders of Florida. Ray also had special friends from Dobb's and other local areas that knew him.

Ray served in the army and worked for Phillips Foundry and The Hallstead Foundry; he also worked at Rex’s Bar, Hallstead. He was also a member of The American Legion.

In memory of my father, any contributions should be made to Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead PA. His ashes will be laid to rest in Logan, West Virginia "West-by-God-Virginia."

He was known in town as “that man with the pipe.” He was a quiet man…but he was still a man.
