SSgt. J. Rockwell Welcomed Home

SSgt. J. Rockwell Welcomed Home
Submitted By Stanley J. Rockwell

Grey skies and a chance of rain did not dampen the spirits and enthusiasm of the welcoming committee that gathered at the Susquehanna American Legion Hall on Saturday morning, November 8.

The welcoming committee was anticipating the arrival of the American Legion Riders Motorcycle Club, who escorted SSgt. Jonathan Rockwell, USAF, into town, in honor of his successful completion of six months’ duty in Iraq as a Civil Engineer.

After a warm welcome from family and friends, the group enjoyed coffee and donuts in the American Legion hall.

Jonathan received many “care packages” from home while he was overseas, one of which was a calling card from the Susquehanna Masonic Lodge.

He will be home until after the Thanksgiving holiday.

“I would like to thank the American Legion Riders and everyone who supported me during my deployment to Iraq,” SSgt. Rockwell said. He is currently stationed at Shaw AFB, Sumter, SC, as a Civil Engineer.
