COLONEL JOHN THOMAS CODY, JR. (RET. USAF)

Colonel John Thomas Cody, Jr. (Ret.), PhD was born October 17, 1949 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, son of Catherine and John Thomas Cody. He passed away after a three-year battle with colon cancer on October 3, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas.

He is survived by his daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth Claire of San Antonio; his brother, Daniel Cody of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Kathleen Cecil of Livingston, NJ, and Lenore Monks of Susquehanna, PA; and friends, Sandra Valtier and Donna Hensley of San Antonio.

John earned a BS in Biology from Iowa Wesleyan College, an MS in Science Education and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa. He served in the US Air Force for 27 years and was the Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General on Drug Testing for the majority of those years.

BEVERLY JEAN COOK DAY

Beverly Jean Cook Day, 79, beloved wife of Donald G. Day of Hallstead, PA, passed from this life on October 11, 2008. She was the daughter of Betty and Art Cook of Laurel Lake, PA. Beverly was born September 10, 1929. She was “Born Again” in February, 1952.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 48 years, Don; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette E. Rosenkrans and Pastor Rick Rosenkrans; and grandsons, Jason Rosenkrans, Great Bend, PA and Jeremy Rosenkrans, Charlotte, NC.

Since 1965, Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church, Hallstead.

A funeral service was held at First Baptist Church, Hallstead, PA on Monday, October 13, with Pastor Richard Woodruff and Pastor Richard Rosenkrans officiating.

Deut. 33:37 “The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms.”
