Party Held For Sexton Fred Huyck

After 35 years (plus) dedicated to the upkeep of St. John’s Church and its properties, Father Bob Simon and his parishioners held an “appreciation” party for Church Sexton Fred Huyck, on April 3 in the Parish Hall center. After being faithful to several pastors over the past 35 years, Mr. Huyck has decided to “take it easy.”

His duties, now will be semi-retired, as he has a valuable helper in Fred Krause. The two men can be seen around the Parish Church, keeping “things in tip-top shape.”

A nice crowd on April 3 greeted Fred and his family in the Parish Hall. Food prepared by the Ladies of the Church after the 10:30 Mass, was available.

Congratulations, Fred, and my you have – and enjoy – many more years as Sexton, along with your co-worker, Fred Krause.
