It’s A “Cat House”

Does Susquehanna have a cat house? Between two uncovered dumpsters at the rear of the Town Restaurant is a small house, built to house all the stray, feral cats that run wild, reproduce, spread germs, defecate and “spray” anywhere they want. This causes many problems for local businesses who must live and work with the smell of cat urine and open garbage that the cats drag away from the dumpsters. The flies, fleas and other creatures also infest buildings nearby. As winter sets in, the cats will find their way into local buildings to breed, urinate and die. This problem is out of sight of most townsfolk, however it is a real dilemma for those who try to run a clean shop and want to keep it clean.

I am hoping a town official might find time to resolve this health problem, before it grows much larger.

Sincerely,

A Business Owner

Wanted More of “Newsbeat,” Mr. Parrillo

Please, Mr. Parrillo, don’t hang up your typewriter. We all will miss your column, terribly. Your points of view did not need labels. The names Liberal, Conservative, or Radical are not dirty words. After all, we had a revolution to rid ourselves of King George and England. The patriots who fought for our democracy were called worse names than the ones listed above. Our democracy gave us a new Constitution which none shall tear asunder.

Of course you all read Tom Paine’s Age Of Reason. He is an American hero and he was called more extreme names in his time than a “liberal”.

We have to re-endorse our Constitution – exchange ideas and opinions and stop calling names. Let’s build democracy and freedom of ideas. That’s what makes this country so great.

Don’t hang up your voice, or your typewriter!

Sincerely,

Victoria Geisler
