PATRICIA A. HANRAHAN

Patricia A. Hanrahan, 69, Susquehanna, PA, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, after an illness.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edmond and Barbara Hanrahan; three brothers, Frederick, James, Edmund; two sisters, Mary Sebald, Jacqueline Romanofski.

Patricia is survived by 16 nieces and nephews, Kathleen, John, James, Barbara, Fritz, Melvin, Larry, Barbara, Robert, Frank, Paul, Bernadette, MaryAnn, Tom, Michael, Jackie; several grandnieces and grandnephews; two cousins, Jack Buckley, Mary Buckley.

She was retired from Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, where she worked as a clerk. She was a member of St. John’s Church, Susquehanna.

A memorial Mass was held on October 2 at St. John’s Church, with Rev. Robert Simon officiating. Burial, St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna County Humane Society, Montrose, PA 18801.

ARTHUR L. PERRINGTON, JR.

Arthur L. Perrington, Jr., 78, Susquehanna, passed away Monday, September 29, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Browndale, PA to the late Arthur L. and Mary Perrington, Sr.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary L. Perrington on January 4, 2003.

Arthur is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William and Veronica Perrington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and John Schell, Betty and Brian Riley, Mary Marie and Jeff Butts; one brother, Glen Perrington; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many cousins and relatives.

Arthur resided all his life in Susquehanna and was a member of the American Legion Post #86, Susquehanna. He was a veteran of the US Army, honorably discharged on August 14, 1945, serving during World War II. He retired from the Erie Railroad after 46 years of service.

Funeral services were held from Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with the Pastor Terry Jenks officiating. Burial, Lamb’s Cemetery, Jackson, PA.

GEORGE DEAN BENSON

George Dean Benson, 71, Susquehanna, PA passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late Percy and Ada (Lewis) Benson.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Sheryl Snyder; and by one brother, Warren Benson.

George is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert O. Benson, Roger A. and Barbara Benson; one sister, Mary B. Wootten; special friends, James V. and Renee Brady.

George retired from Penelec Electric Company after many years of service.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 7, from Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Susquehanna, with the Rev. Kenneth Bitler officiating. Burial, South Eaton Cemetery, Tunkhannock, PA.

SHIRLEY ANN WILLIAMS

Shirley Ann Williams, 79, Starrucca, PA, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Barnes-Kasson County Hospital, Susquehanna, PA.

She was born in Scott Center, PA, the daughter of the late Ernest and Maye (Geer) Tarbox.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Robert Williams, in 2002; son, Gary Williams, in 2002; sister, Marguerieta Swartz, in 2001.

Shirley is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Gail Cook, Susquehanna, Gay and Robert Keyes, Susquehanna, Gwen Williams, Susquehanna; daughter-in-law, Gale Williams, Starrucca; 11 grandchildren, Scott Williams, Stephen Williams, Greg Williams, Kristin Potter, Michele Cook, Amy Kuiper, Jeffrey Keyes, Brent Keyes, Mariah Stewart, Jedediah Stewart, Jared Stewart; nine great-grandchildren, Michael Williams, Nathan Williams, Shannon Williams, Danielle Williams, Cynthia Williams, Rhiannon Potter, Mark Pichler, Austin Kuiper, Abigail Kuiper; one great-great-grandson, Carson Williams; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a member of the Starrucca Baptist Church in Starrucca, PA.

Shirley will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She was a caring woman who will also be remembered for her many acts of kindness.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, at 11 a.m. at the Starrucca Baptist Church. Burial will be in Starrucca Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Starrucca Baptist Church, Starrucca, PA 18462.
